The Folate Receptor Antibody (FRA), Serum test measures the presence of antibodies directed against folate receptors in the body. These antibodies can block or bind to folate receptors, preventing proper transport of folate into cells, particularly into the brain and nervous system.
Helps in the evaluation of cerebral folate deficiency and related neurological disorders, especially in children with developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, or seizures. May also be used to investigate cases of unexplained neurological symptoms or impaired folate metabolism.
