دواعي الإستعمال
This test is used to evaluate electrolyte composition of urine and to distinguish whether or not a case of metabolic alkalosis is chloride responsive. Increased levels occur in increased salt intake, postmenstrual diuresis (physiological), massive diuresis from any cause, potassium depletion, and adrenocortical insufficiency. Decreased levels occur in reduced salt intake, pre menstrual salt and water retention, excessive extrarenal chloride loss (e.g. vomiting, severe diarrhoea, excessive sweating) and postoperative chloride retention.
