الوصف
The Malaria Antigen Screening Test is a rapid immunochromatographic assay used for the qualitative detection of malaria parasite antigens in human whole blood. It is designed to identify infections caused by Plasmodium falciparum and/or other human malaria species such as P. vivax, P. ovale, and P. malariae. The test is commonly used for rapid diagnosis, especially in endemic areas or when immediate results are required.
دواعي الإستعمال
The Malaria Antigen Screening Test is indicated for the rapid detection of malaria infection in patients with clinical symptoms, travel history, or epidemiological risk factors suggestive of malaria. A positive malaria antigen test should be interpreted in conjunction with the patient's clinical presentation and, whenever possible, confirmed by thick and thin blood smear microscopy, which remains the gold standard for species identification and parasite quantification. Molecular testing may be considered in selected cases. A negative antigen test does not completely rule out malaria, particularly in patients with low parasite density.
