الوصف
Stone analysis is a semiquantitative analysis for commonly found constituents of urinary calculi, e.g. calcium oxalate, phosphate, urate, cystine, uric acid, magnesium and ammonium salts. Dietary and physiological compositions play a major role in renal stone formation.
دواعي الإستعمال
Calcium oxalate stones account for 75% of all renal stones. the average age of onset is in the 30s. Magnesium ammonium phosphate (Struvite stones) are common and potentially dangerous. These stones result from urinary tract infections. Uric acid accounts for 5-8% of all stones. These stones are formed mainly in men. Many patients who form uric acid stones have gout. Other types are partially composed of calcium phosphate (apatite).
