Description

Used in evaluation of anemia, blood loss and state of dehydration

Indications

Increased in polycythaemia and in hemoconcentration due to dehydration. Decreased in anemia and over hydration. Healthy pregnant women usually have slightly lower hematocrit level. Increased in megaloblastic and pernicious anemia.
