Measures an acute-phase protein that binds bacterial lipopolysaccharide/endotoxin and rises with innate immune activation.
Indications
Adjunct marker in research/specialized assessment of endotoxin exposure or systemic inflammation. It is not specific enough to diagnose sepsis alone.
