Alpha-2- Antiplasmin, Plasma

الوصف

The plasma proteinase inhibitor, α-2-antiplasmin, is a strong inhibitor of plasmin, the ultimate enzyme of the fibrinolytic system. α-2-antiplasmin with the help of the cofactor XIIIa binds fibrin thus,
reducing its breakdown. α-2-Antiplasmin levels correlate with antithrombin III and plasminogen levels, suggesting that the synthesis of these proteins in the liver is closely linked.

دواعي الإستعمال

Severe α-2-antiplasmin deficiency due to homozygous mutations leads to unrestrained fibrinolysis and severe hemorrhagic diathesis. Heterozygous mutations lead to mild hemorrhagic diathesis. α-2- antiplasmin, anti-thrombin III and plasminogen are used in the diagnosis and follow up of parenchymatous liver disease. In cholestatic jaundice, however, none of these blood coagulation tests have prognostic significance.
