الهرمون المضاد للبول (فاسوبريسين ), مصل

الوصف

Vasopressin, Antidiuretic Hormone, a peptide hormone secreted by the hypothalamus, is essential for cardiovascular homeostasis. Vasopressin acts on its main target organs (the kidneys) where it alters the tubules water permeability. Vasopressin is mainly used to treat variceal haemorrhage and diabetes insipidus.

دواعي الإستعمال

Vasopressin is used to difierentiate central diabetes insipidus (inability of the kidneys to conserve water, which leads to frequent urination and pronounced thirst), a hypothalamus-pituitary disease due to decreased secretion of vasopressin from nephrogenic diabetes insipidus (kidney resistance to vasopressin).
