Apolipoprotein B, Serum

Apolipoprotein B (Apo B), synthesised in the liver, is the major protein constituent of very low density and low-density lipoprotein (VLDL & LDL). See Also Apolipoprotein A1, Serum

دواعي الإستعمال

Apo B levels are increased in hypercholesterolemia, type II hyperlipidemia, LDL receptor defects, bile obstruction, nephrotic syndrome, and pregnancy. Decreased Apo B levels are associated with liver disease, a - b lipoproteinemia, sepsis, and administration of estrogens. The measurement of Apo B and Apo A can reflect lipid metabolism disorders and risk of atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease.
