Human Immunodeficiency Virus (1 & 2) Antigen & Antibodies, Serum/Plasma

الوصف

In recent HIV infection, the P24 antigen may be present in the blood of an affected individual prior to seroconversion. Combined antigen and antibody tests for HIV, which permit the simultaneous detection of HIV antigen and antibody, show a higher sensitivity for the detection of primary HIV infection than conventional tests that rely on the detection of antibodies only, thus, they reduce the diagnostic window period between the time of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and laboratory diagnosis.

دواعي الإستعمال

This test allows for an earlier and a more sensitive laboratory diagnosis of HIV infection.
