الوصف

Vitamin D has been associated, directly or indirectly, with over 200 genes within the body. It has been shown to play a role in the reduction of risk from different types of cancer, MS, Alzheimers, hypertension and of course osteoporosis. Understanding the true amount of Vitmain D within the body is essential, especially at the lower end of the spectrum. Please also see Vitamin D, Serum.

دواعي الإستعمال

The levels of 25-OH- Vitamin D increase in proportion to vitamin D intake and synthesis and are commonly used as an indicator of vitamin D status. Low vitamin D levels are associated with many diseases including rickets, autoimmune disease, hypertension and cancer. Performing the test through the use of LC-MS/MS is still the "Gold Standard" test for Vitamin D as it not only produces the most accurate results but also separates and reports both active forms of Vitamin D (D2 and D3).
