Description

α-2-Macroglobulin is a glycoprotein that mediates complex physiological and pathological activities. It interacts with two major groups of peptides, proteinases and cytokines, to exert important modulatory effects on inflammation, immunity, and tissue repair.

Indications

Local deposition of α-2-macroglobulin in glomeruli and variations of circulatory levels have been reported in patients with renal disease, especially those associated with nephrotic syndrome and glomerulonephritis.
