Indications
This test is used in the diagnosis of hyperamylasaemia and renal insufficiency. Amylase testing is very useful in the diagnosis of macroamylasaemia, since high serum amylase levels with low urine amylase levels rule out the disease. Moreover, urinary amylase may indicate renal involvement in diabetics more sensitively than Microalbuminuria.

1 ml of Urine (without additives) Stability: 2 Days at 15-25 °C 10 Days at 2-8 °C
Special Precautions
Adjust pH to alkaline range (just above pH 7) if not assayed promptly.
