Description
Indications
This test is used to evaluate possible chromosomal abnormalities and blood mosaicism, as well as for the confirmation of genetic disease, metabolic defects and to rule out chromosomal abnormalities as a cause of miscarriage. Best results are obtained from placental villi, which remain viable much longer than foetal tissue. This is especially true in stillborn cases in which both cord blood and tissue samples are often not viable.
