Coomb’s Test, Indirect

Description

This test is used to detect anti erythrocyte free antibodies in serum; antibodies against the patient’s own erythrocytes that are present in serum and antibodies against an antigen that is not present on the patient’s own erythrocytes.

Indications

Used in detection of incompatibility in cross-matching tests, detection and identification of irregular (atypical) antibodies, and in detection of antibodies not identifiable by other means.
