Description
This test is used to detect the presence of EBV virus in the blood. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is used to detect specific EBV amplification from the DNA extracted from blood, using primers that are directed to conserved regions of the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) genome encoding capsid protein gp220 and Epstein-Barr nuclear antigen 1.
