Indications
Serum H. pylori specific IgG testing is a satisfactory technique for demonstrating H. pylori infection in patients who have not been treated. It is especially suitable for epidemiological surveys, but is not useful for early assessment of effective treatment as it may take 6-12 months for antibody titres to fall or to disappear altogether.
