Indications

The detection of total HBcAb indicates current or past exposure to HBV. IgG anti-HBc appears shortly after HBsAg among persons with acute disease and generally persists for life.

Sample Type, Quantity & Conditions

1 ml Serum 1 ml K2, K3-EDTA, Li, Na-Heparin, Sodium Citrate, or Potassium Oxalate Plasma Stability: 3 Days at 15-30 °C 14 Days at 2-8 °C > 14 Days at -20 °C

Special Precautions

Avoid grossly haemolysed samples.

Normal Range

S/CO Non-Reactive: > 1.00 Reactive: ≤ 1.00
