JAK2 (V617F) Mutation, By PCR, Blood

Description

Formally known JAK2 V617F; JAK2 exon 12 and 13, is used to help in the diagnosis of myeloproliferative disorders (MPDs), polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET), and agnogenic myeloid metaplasia (primary myelofibrosis, PMF). The MPD patients may have many signs and symptoms such as weakness and fatigue, weight loss, enlarged spleen (splenomegaly), bleeding and bruising due to low and/or abnormal platelets, night sweats, bone and joint pain, a pale appearance due to anemia (when red blood cells are decreased) and frequent infections.

2 ml of EDTA Whole Blood Room Temperature

Special Precautions

Collect in EDTA vacutainer tube. Avoid contamination with DNA of phlebotomist. Avoid haemolysed samples. Do not freeze samples. Send tube unopened.
