Description
Mucopolysaccharidosis is a lysosomal storage disease involving the visceral organs, bones, CNS, and other tissues. Patients exhibit serious clinical manifestations that cause various disturbances in daily life, including mental deterioration in some subtypes of mucopolysaccharidosis.
Indications
This is a screening test for mucopolysaccharidoses. More sensitive and specific tests such as lysosomal enzymes activity are also available.
