Description
Natural Killer (NK) cells morphologically appear as so-called “large granular lymphocytes.” Natural killer cells usually lack expression of CD3, but mark positively for CD16, CD56. The natural killer cell population may be increased or decreased in various immunologic abnormalities and recurrent abortions.
Indications
NK cell proliferation occurs in a number of reactive and autoimmune conditions. In addition, increased NK cell counts have been implicated in some cases of female infertility and abortion.
