Description
N. gonorrhoeae is a gram-negative bacterium which is most commonly transmitted through sexual contact. If left untreated, gonorrhoea can result in serious complications, including pelvic inflammatory disease, sterility, and ectopic pregnancy.
Indications
Gonorrheae manifests as acute urethritis in males and as cervicitis in females. N. gonorrhoeae can also cause conjunctivitis, pharyngitis, proctitis or urethritis, prostatitis and orchitis.
