Description
This is a simple calculation of the ratio of free unbound PSA to protein-bound PSA. See Also Prostate-Specific Antigen Total & Free, Serum
Indications
The lowered proportion of free PSA in patients with prostate cancer is expressed as a decrease in the F/T PSA ratio. However, the diagnostic value of using F/T PSA ratio is of relevance in patients with a total PSA between 4-10 ng/ml. In patients with PSA levels <4.0, use of ratio could be misleading.
