الوصف
HCV genotypes have a geographical distribution pattern. HCV genotype 4 constitutes up to 90 % of infections in Egypt and is common in the Middle East, genotype 5 is common in southern Africa, and Genotype 6 is generally limited to Southeast Asia. It is also a criterion in selecting candidate patients for antiviral therapy because certain genotypes are more responsive to treatment than others.
