The Academy by MedLabs Launches Specialized Medical Training Courses to Support Healthcare Workers in Gaza

Amman, Jordan – The Academy by MedLabs represented by Dr. Manar Agha Al-Nimr, Chairperson of the Board of Directors, has announced the launch of a series of specialized training courses to support the medical laboratory sector in Gaza. The initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Laboratory and Blood Bank Unit of the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the “Wujhah” initiative in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The program aims to strengthen the resilience of medical professionals in Gaza and enhance their skills amid resource shortages and infrastructure destruction caused by the ongoing war.

 

The first training course focused on diagnostic microbiology, aiming to develop the expertise of medical laboratory professionals in diagnosing infectious diseases. It featured both theoretical and practical training sessions, supervised by a team of specialized trainers.

 

A total of 20 medical laboratory specialists participated in the course, representing microbiology departments in various hospitals across Gaza, including Al-Wafa Hospital, Al-Shifa Hospital, the Indonesian Hospital, Kamal Adwan Hospital, Al-Ahli Hospital, Friends of the Patient Hospital, Al-Sahaba Hospital, Public Service Hospital, Nasser Hospital, and the European Hospital. The training was conducted via Zoom despite the prevailing humanitarian challenges.

 

The program included lectures designed for doctors, pharmacists, and nurses, covering topics such as bacterial infection classification, modern laboratory diagnostic techniques, wound management, sample collection procedures, antibiotic selection based on bacterial culture results, and quality standards in diagnostic microbiology laboratories. The training was delivered by a group of experts, including Dr. Laila Al-Khatib, Dr. Abdullah Nassar, Dr. Mohammad Azzam, Dr. Mohammad Al-Tarawneh, Mr. Murad Balsha, and nurse Mahasin Hayasat.

 

The Academy by MedLabs extended its gratitude to all participating trainers, with special recognition given to Dr. Othman Al-Samadi, representative of the “Wujhah” initiative, Dr. Sahar Ghanem, Acting Director of the Laboratory and Blood Bank Unit in Gaza, Dr. Ali Al-Saudi, General Director of the Saudi Hospital, and Ms. Zeina Shalbak, Director of The Academy by MedLabs. Dr. Manar Agha Al-Nimr reaffirmed The Academy’s commitment to continuing its support and training for medical professionals in Gaza, emphasizing that these initiatives will expand to cover additional laboratory specializations to improve healthcare services under the current challenging conditions.
