Indications
Haemoglobinopathies are a major health problem, causing both severe socio-economic and psychological debilitations in the population due to symptomatic care and hospitalisation. Therefore, it is highly recommended that β- Thalassemia carrier couples undergo prenatal testing for β- Thalassemia from amniotic fluid or CVS taken in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy.
